Where is the festival located?

The Festival will be held in front of The Castle Theatre within a fully gated area on Washington Street between East Street and Prairie Street in Bloomington, IL.

Where can I buy tickets?

Advance tickets are available at thecastletheatre.com and blackdirtmusicfestival.com, as well as Waiting Room Records at 113 W North Street in Normal, and Reckless Saint at 320 N Main Street in Bloomington. If interested in a paper ticket, please visit the Castle Theatre Box Office during normal business hours : 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday). Call first — 309-820-0352 — just to be certain staff is available to assist you.

What time does the main entrance gate open?

4pm each day.

What time does music start?

5pm each day.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?

Absolutely, as long as we don’t sell out in advance.

What if it rains?

The festival is happening - rain or shine.

Can I bring my kids? How about my pet?

The event is family-friendly, children 10 and under free with paid adult. No Pets allowed.

What if I can’t make it? Can I get a ticket refund?

No refunds, sorry.

Can I bring a chair, cooler, umbrella?

Chairs are welcome within the designated area. No umbrellas, pop up tents, coolers or outside food/drink. Purses/backpacks will be checked at the gate. No knives, guns or weapons of any kind are allowed.

Will food and drinks be available?

Several Food Trucks will be on-site providing a variety of delicious foods. Beer/alcohol, soda, water will also be available for purchase in designated areas.

Will there be any Covid restrictions?

Unlike the restrictions being put in place all across the country for Indoor Concert Gatherings, outdoor festivals and show restrictions are generally left up to the discretion of the performing artist and their tour management. The Black Dirt Music Festival will NOT require proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test for entry. This means that each individual attendee will need to respect the personal space and health and safety choices of each of their fellow attendees. Physically distance in whatever way creates a space you’re comfortable with for yourself, your guests and those around you. We do not require, but do strongly suggest that you wear a mask when not eating or drinking. Respect for others and personal safety are the watchwords for this Festival. We reserve the right to eject any attendee not respecting these guidelines.

Can I leave the fest and come back later?

Sorry, no Re-entry

Will there be an ATM?

There is no ATM on site however credit/debit cards may be used to purchase tickets, merchandise and food/drinks.

Can I bring my camera?

Phone cameras or small point and shoot cameras are allowed without flash. Professional cameras (anything with a detachable lens) are not permitted
